Marcus Shelby does it all: he’s a bandleader, composer, arranger, bassist, educator, and activist who lives in San Francisco. Over 25 years he has built a diverse biography as a composer focused on the history, present, and future of African American lives, on social movements in the U.S., and on early childhood music education. Shelby was bandleader of Columbia Records and GRP Impulse! and currently is an artist in residence with the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. Marcus is unique!
Widely hailed as one of the best jazz debut albums of 2015, Tiffany Austin made quite a splash, including sterling reviews in “Downbeat” and on NPR’s “Fresh Air.” She now enjoys status as one of jazz’s elite singers.
The St. Helena Performing Arts Center boasts state-of-the-art lighting and acoustics, and seats 350.
