NVJS and Clairdee celebrate the groundbreaking singer, actress and activist who personified glamour and became a catalyst for social justice.  Horne, one of the most revered singers of the Great American Songbook, is especially renowned for her definitive version of the Harold Arlen / Ted Koehler torch song, “Stormy Weather.”

From Harlem to Hollywood,  Clairdee’s loving tribute features historical facts and luminous arrangements of Lena’s repertoire.  Clairdee’s interpretations are intimate and artistic rather than just emulations of Ms. Horne.

“In the tradition of all great jazz vocalists, Clairdee infuses each song with her own unique style while always remaining true to the song itself.”
– Nancy Wilson
