Erik Jekabson

Erik Jekabson is one of the finest musicians in the entire Bay Area.  He’s an gifted composer, an accomplished trumpet player, and has a very fertile mind.  His String-tet is a great example:  it boasts unique voicing and features the extraordinary Mads Tolling on violin.

Erik fronts a variety of  his own ensembles, while performing at the DeYoung Museum, SFJazz’s Summer Series, Jazz at Pearl’s, Pacifica Performances, the Downtown Berkeley Jazz Festival, the Red Poppy and Piedmont Piano Company.

Erik has Degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory, from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and teaches at the Jazzschool Institute.  Serious credentials.

He’s performed for the NVJS with his own groups, with Larry Vuckovich, with Jackie Ryan and he returns now for our 7th Annual Tribute to Duke Ellington.  Order tickets now because this is sure to be special.

It’s a fresh take on Ellington… and it’s all good!
