Jeff Denson is a creative musician who searches for new expression while fronting many different ensembles.  He’s a full professor at the C J C,  yet has developed in the tradition that dates back to the earliest days of jazz  –  listening to the masters, and straight-up hands-on experience in the trenches.

He has recorded 10 albums as leader/co-leader and over a dozen more as a featured sideman – four with alto great  Lee Konitz.  He’s also performed with remarkable musicians like:  Joe Lovano, Jane Ira Bloom, Dave Douglas, Howard Alden, Warren Wolf and many more.

“Jeff Denson takes modern jazz to a new level.  His many flashes of compositional genius bring much that is fresh, new and unexpected.  This makes his music instantly recognizable.”   Stefen Pieper, Jazzthetik, Germany
