Scotty is an internationally acclaimed jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, and educator in his 20th year as a featured soloist with the legendary Count Basie Orchestra. A two-time Grammy Award winner with Basie, he also appears on three critically acclaimed recordings with pianist Marcus Roberts, and fifteen others with artists like Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Ray Charles, and Tito Puente. He’s an acknowledged authority on the jazz trumpet, with a groundbreaking book out there called “The World of Jazz Trumpet.”
He has also performed or recorded with Frank Sinatra, Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Take 6, Lena Horne, Natalie Cole, and others. Good Company!
